Tyre Brands We Supply
Southport Budget Tyres & Auto supplies over 25 tyre brands, from budget lines through to the premium marques. We are not tied to a single manufacturer, which means we can recommend what genuinely suits your car and your budget rather than whatever we are contracted to move.
Whatever brand you choose, we will beat any written quote on the same tyre, and fitting, balancing and old tyre disposal are included.

How the brands compare
Tyre brands broadly fall into three tiers. None of them are unsafe — every tyre sold legally in Australia meets minimum standards — but there are real differences in wet braking distance, tread life and road noise. Here is how we would group what we stock.
Premium
Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, Goodyear, Dunlop, Yokohama, Toyo
The shortest wet stopping distances, longest tread life and lowest road noise. Worth the money if you cover high kilometres, drive a heavier or more powerful car, or simply want the best safety margin available. Because they last longer, the cost per kilometre is often closer to mid-range than the sticker price suggests.
Mid-range
Hankook, Kumho, Nexen, Maxxis, Falken, Sumitomo, Federal, Kenda, Cooper, Nitto
Where most family cars sit, and where the value is for the majority of drivers. Noticeably better wet performance and tread life than budget lines without premium pricing. Cooper and Nitto in particular are strong choices for 4WD and light truck applications.
Budget
A Plus, Austone, Double Star, Maxtrek, Nankang, Pace, Superia, Wanli, Winrun
Legal, safe and cost-effective. The sensible choice for lower-kilometre drivers, second cars, work vehicles, or a car you are preparing to sell. This is also where our $35 fitted pricing starts.
Which brand should you choose?
Honestly, it depends on three things: how many kilometres you do, what you drive, and what you want to spend. A high-kilometre highway commuter and a second car that does 5,000km a year should not be buying the same tyre.
Tell us those three things when you call and we will give you two or three options across different price points rather than a single recommendation. If a budget tyre is the right answer for your situation, we will say so.

We also carry a large range of used tyres across most of these brands, starting at 75% remaining tread.
Can we get a brand not listed here?
Usually, yes. This list covers what we stock and see regularly, but we can source most brands and sizes on request. If you have a specific tyre in mind, call us and we will find out what we can do and what it will cost.
